Readership Galore

Audio books really saved me while I was in grad school. It was an easy way to relax. I could listen to a book while cleaning or doing laundry. I took a seminar with Nancy Pearl (who happens to be hosting an essay contest right now!) and readership and readers advisory became really important to me because I remembered that as a kid that books changed my life, and they led me to my local library every day. I got my first job shelving the art books at the Shrewsbury Public Library.

I’ve been really excited about a combination of things: 1 - I can get dearreader in my email every night, with samples of books that I might want to read, or might not, 2 - I can download the audio book via Ada Community Library with NetLibrary!

Right now I am listening to Jonathan Safran Foer’s Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, and relaxing.
